Now you'll really be able to find what you are looking for on blogTV! Give the new search a try! Since the parameters have been changed, whenever you search a word it will go over everyone's profile pages and show you all the possible results, user by user. PLUS you will be able to see a bunch of info about each user before you even check into his or her page!

If you don't upload your own show picture, these images will appear according to which channel you choose to broadcast from.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS BLOGTV JUNIORS!

Welcome to the brand new junior page!

We've been promising the junior members of blogTV (ages 13-15) a new channel they could really call their own for a while and it is finally here! Gone are the childish logo and limited features of the past. They have all made way for some great new options so the juniors can really become a strong and cohesive community.

The new features blogTV juniors will see now are:

• New and improved Safety Zone with even more safe broadcasting tips and a larger area so no one will miss it!
• The updated layout similar to that of the Live Now page - including brand new header and footer for easy access to blogTV information
• New sorting options so each junior can customize his channel viewing experience
• A featured video section! (have you created a great video and want some recognition for it? Send a link to Community@blogTV.com and you might see your video in the new featured section!)
• Twitter and facebook feeds so junior can see what blogTV and its followers are tweeting about and who likes what!
• You still have your best of section so you can keep track of who is the most subscribed and the friendliest broadcaster each week.
• And of course, you still have your featured broadcasters banner area to support junior broadcasters who are working hard to create great shows for you!

Coming soon, junior broadcasters will also see a copy of the safety zone before they open their broadcast so that each and every junior will be well aware of safe broadcasting tips before they start their shows.

Many of you have come to us asking how you can promote your show better and how you can attract more viewers with similar interests to you to your live shows and videos. Our response has always been to suggest that you advertise your show on your already existing social networking accounts.

In order to help you out and make that suggestion a simple reality for everyone, we've added facebook and twitter share buttons to your live shows and videos.




Now you can embed your shows onto your facebook accounts, and what's better is others can share your show on their walls! This will help your shows and videos go viral much faster!

RECENT DENIAL OF SERVICE ATTACKS ON BLOGTV

In recent days, blogTV.com has been the target of denial of service attacks. Attacks of this nature are malicious efforts orchestrated to disrupt and make services such as large social networks unavailable to their members. In this case, the attacks have rendered blogTV unavailable for intended users and broadcasters intermittently during the last few days. We are defending against these attacks now and will update our blog and social networks as we continue to defend our platform and investigate the matter.

Please understand that we want you to have the best experience possible on blogTV and we will continue to work as hard as possible to make that happen.

DANGEROUS PREDATOR THWARTED BY VIGILANT BLOGTV MODERATOR!

The Keene police department (New Hampshire) was able to legally search the residence of and arrest a local man after receiving detailed reports from a blogTV moderator about the man's significantly disturbing activities on blogTV.com. The moderator had been following and documenting the man's behavior, usernames and IP changes over a period of time and making persistent reports to the Keene police department.

Det/Sgt. James F. McLaughlin, of the Keene police department, kept in close contact with the blogTV moderator until the predator was able to be brought to justice!

The blogTV moderation team has shown itself to rise above and beyond the call of duty once again in its efforts to keep the blogTV community safe from dangerous online predators. We are very proud of our moderators and know they will continue to do a stand-up job.

Predators beware! Crime does not pay on blogTV and you WILL pay for your actions!

JOIN US IN WELCOMING THE GERMAN AND HEBREW COMMUNITIES TO BLOGTV!

It's official; on October 11th, 2010 blogTV is opening its doors to the German and Hebrew speaking communities.

While everyone has and always will be welcome on blogTV.com, these communities will now be able to navigate the site easily in their own native languages. Anyone who pleases can get to the newly translated sites by hovering over the site globe located in the top right corner of each page of the website (or the top left corner once the language is switched to Hebrew).

If you are already a member of blogTV and have signed up with the country Germany or Israel, you will be automatically taken to the proper language site. However, you may choose to switch to whichever language you feel comfortable with.

In order to type from right to left, press the language direction button underneath the username list, in the chat window.

BACK TO SCHOOL 2010 UPDATE: BETTER & SMARTER!

For this back to school update, we decided to put in some small but thoughtful additions, with you in mind.

More help promoting your videos

You will note that your videos now feature your username so that if a person who has never seen your page before happens upon one of your videos, he or she will know who you are and how to get in touch with you. There will also be a subscribe button under each video so that anyone who loves what you're doing can subscribe right away!



A better and brighter embeddable schedule

The new embeddable show schedule has an interchangeable background color that will fit in with any website background color you choose! When you embed the schedule, just change the color code and it will be a perfect match! On top of that, you will note that the new embeddable schedule links to your blogTV page so that anyone who clicks on it will arrive at your page without any confusion. Also, we added a seconds counter so that everyone will be able to monitor your schedule with absolute accuracy! The new blogTV logo found on the embeddable schedule will let people know what site the show is taking place on.



Automatically or manually approve your comments - it's up to you!

Since we launched the manual comment wall approval feature, we noticed some of you have forgotten to show off all of your comments. So, we installed a new feature which will allow you to choose whether you want to automatically or manually approve your comments.

You can access this feature from your profile editing page, all the way at the bottom.

We've split the Live Now page into two distinct sections. The left side is a cleaner and neater list of all the live shows currently being broadcast on the site. The new right side of the page will feature a special video section where you will be able to see informative, funny, new and exciting recordings from all areas of the blogTV community. Underneath the video will be modules holding important information and helpful tips for you as community members.

Now the Live Now page will be a one stop spot for everything you need to know on blogTV!
